Worst Earthquake

Yesterday (Saturday, October 08, 2005) at 8:55am; I was sitting at my computer table reading Urdu Planet, suddenly the table started vibrating. First I thought it was my illusion, but then it started moving fastly. I realized that an earth quake has come, I ran out of my room and stood in the courtyard. While I was standing, I felt dizziness and couldn’t understand what’s happening around me, so I sat down on the cot. I felt the cot was jolting too. All the things were jolting and the heavy gate of my home was vibrating too.

Afterwards, I listent on the TV that the quake was measured 7.6; O my ALLAH, it’s so big! I was stunned to hear that. The Margala Tower in Islamabad completely destroyed. There were 50 flats in the tower and it was 10 storey. There was destruction in other cities too. In our mosque, a special prayer was held.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that sudden earthquakes are a sign of coming of the Day of Judgment and those quakes will come in a series, as pearls fall from a broken string.
And we have seen it is true. But we are still indulged in doing evils and becoming devils. We don’t care about what’s happening to others, we just realize our own benefits. But there are still many good people in the world, especially in Pakistan, that I could see on the TV. They were helping in evacuating the people, while Ejaz-ul-Haq (the minister) was showing that he brushed his teeth today and Shoukat Aziz (prime minster) took just an aerial flight of the spot and went away.
These are our rulers and that is their sympathy for the people who elected them.
